When I moved to Desná, it was a blessing for me. It was an apartment I could only have wished for – it met everything I needed. It was in a prefabricated apartment building right next to the bus stop for Prague, and I could commute to Prague for consultations – the bus took me all the way to Černý Most. Fast internet connection was available – and after years, I could finally easily start uploading videos to YouTube, everything was close at hand – a convenience store, a shop, a post office, a doctor. I didn't need a car – and I could take care of everything with peace of mind.
The original owner left me furniture and a bed here, and the apartment offered plenty of space for my creativity.
I began my stay here with work. I finished my year-long online seminar Year with the Tarot here, before I was even settled—filming in front of a green screen in a nearly empty apartment.
Over time, I decorated my apartment, and I won't deny that I enjoyed it. I finally had my own place where I could let my creativity run free. Also because I spent most of my time creating at home, I frequently changed the layout of the apartment—moving furniture and creating various corners. Many of them served as backdrops for YouTube videos. You surely remember some of them well.
My apartment went through countless possible transformations. My mother would not unfrequently say: Not again? Visitors would leave and return some time later to a completely rearranged apartment. I tried various setups: work blended with the home environment. Work confined to a single room. One of the final setups was a dedicated fortune-telling room.
The apartment underwent its final transformation after a period of deep mourning. I repainted the apartment once more, cleansed the space, consecrated it for a new life, and transformed it for an artistic period, and instead of the walls, I began painting on canvases.
Despite all that, it seems I am to move on – and so I have decided to take the step of selling my flat – and moving.
Thank you, little flat, for the shelter you have provided me, and I wish you a kind new owner who will care for you with love.
With love
Endri
